Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Submission

The document needs to be prepared in English language. The manuscript needs to be documented, maintaining double-spacing between lines along with a large margin. All the pages of the document need to be numbered in a sequence, including those containing figures, tabular columns, acknowledgements, references, etc. The documents containing the manuscript should be a single MS Word file. All figures and tables related to the manuscript need to be attached in the same word file. Submit your manuscript as an email attachment to editor@journalofclinicalcases.com
Terms of Submission
Submission of a manuscript to the Journal of Clinical Cases directly implies that all the authors have read and agreed to the journal's guidelines. The content present in the manuscript after publication will be freely available to all the potential readers over the Internet for noncommercial use. The content provided by the authors in the manuscript should at no point of time breach the copyrights or rights of third party. The manuscript submitted should not be published or submitted for consideration in any other journal.
Peer-Review Process
The journal follows double-blind peer-review process. This is done with the aim to minimize the possibility of a biased opinion when the reviewers know who the authors are and from where they come from, ensuring a responsible and ethical environment.
Manuscript Title
Manuscript title limit should not exceed 28 words. It should not contain abbreviations and the title should be a brief phrase which describes the contents present in the article.
Details of the Author
The details (full names and affiliations) of all the authors should be given in the manuscript. For corresponding author details (Live address with Telephone, Fax and Email address) should be provided in the manuscript.
Image Submission
Images with high resolutions must be submitted by the author. Authors should take full responsibility for copyrighted images during submission and publication process. Journal of Clinical Cases is an open access journal publishing research/original submissions, reviews, brief reports, case studies, rapid communications, letters to the editor etc. related to basic, experimental and clinical aspects of research.

Instructions to be Followed
  • A brief title describing, content of the image.
  • Images must be submitted in TIFF, PDF or PPT.
  • Images should be captured at the following minimum resolutions: halftones and colour (all colour must be RGB) 100-200 dpi; combination halftones 350 dpi; line art 500 dpi to match the journal
  • Citations/References (URL) should be mentioned properly.
Presentation
Presentation is a means of communication that helps a person to disclose his work under a broad spectrum of clinical and medical sciences. Presentations are of three types: Power Point Presentation, Flow Chart and Poster presentation.

Research Article: The submitted research article should contain no more than 4500–5000 words. There is no defined limit on the number of pages, images, and tabular columns.
Review Articles: The word count for a review article is 4000–5000 words, with no limitation on the number of pages, tables, and images being used.
Case Reports: The maximum word count for a case report is 1200–1600 words. Having no limit on the number of pages, figures, and references.
Clinical Images: While submitting clinical images, a maximum of 2 images needs to be used along with a word limit of 150 words.
Short Communications: Should specify the research study in focus and specify the author’s opinion using a maximum of 1200–1300 words.
Special Issue Articles: A special issue publication is a group 10–15 articles on a specific theme, and a special issue article should contain a maximum of 4000–5000 words, with no limit on the number of references, pages, and images being used.
Editorials: A maximum of 1000–1500 words, with no specification on the number of pages, references, and images used.

All the manuscripts that are submitted to Journal of Clinical Cases journal need to be submitted in the following format:

Cover letter
  • Along with the manuscript a mandatory cover letter needs to be submitted.
  • Declaration of any potential conflict of interest.
  • A consent confirming the approval by all the co-authors to submit the manuscript.
  • Confirmation that the content of the manuscript has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • Consent confirming that the manuscript has not been published or is under consideration for publication by any other journal.
  • If the manuscript is being submitted as part of a special issue, then the special issue title needs to be mentioned in the cover letter along with the manuscript title.
Abstract
An abstract must have a short and precise title that describes the nature of the investigation. An abstract of 200–250 words needs to be prepared to give a brief outline of the work that has been carried out.
Title and Authorship Information
The following information should be included
  • Title of the paper
  • Author complete names
  • Complete mailing address of the institution
  • Email addresses
Introduction
A brief introduction to the topic needs to be given, specifying the highlights of the study.
Materials and Methods
By submitting your manuscript to the journal, you give your consent for the materials described in the manuscript, which would include the complete data that will be freely available to researchers and scientists who intend to use it for non-commercial purpose, without violating participant’s confidentiality.
Results and Discussion
In this section, the authors can bring out their key experimental results, including any statistical analysis and whether or not the results of their study are significant.

Figures and Tables

Figures
Suggested formats for figures should be in bitmap formats (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, etc.). Please send us the Photoshop indexes, in case the pictures need any differential segments on distinctive layers.
Figure Legends
Use numerical to designate figures (e.g., Figure 1). Use justifiable description, if necessary
Figure Quality
During submissions, figures are supposed to be at sufficient quality, preferably as JPEGs
Tables
Tables can be included in the text, if not submitted as a separate file, oriented in portrait form (not landscape) and upright on the page, not sideways
Table Legends
Use numerical to designate tables (e.g., Table 1). Use justifiable description, if necessary
Equations as Graphics
If equations cannot be encoded in MathML, submit them in TIFF or EPS format as discrete files (i.e., a file containing only the data for one equation). Only when tables cannot be encoded as XML/SGML can they be submitted as graphics. If this method is used, it is critical that the font size in all equations and tables is consistent and legible throughout all submissions

Discrete items of the Supplementary Information (Materials & Methods, Figures, Tables, etc.,) referred to at an appropriate point in the main text of the chapter. Summary diagram/figure included as part of the Supplementary Information (optional). All Supplementary Information is supplied as a single PDF file, where possible. File size within the permitted limits for Supplementary Information. Images should be a maximum size of 640 x 480 pixels (9 x 6.8 inches at 72 pixels per inch).

Acknowledgments
In this section, the author is free to mention the inpiduals or contributors who have directly or indirectly provided any technical assistance to the original work and would not be considered to meet the criteria for authorship. The authors must seek the consent of the inpidual or contributors, whom they would like to mention in this section as a matter of courtesy.
References
Vancouver System of referencing. A unique Arabic number is assigned to every citation mentioned in the manuscript. The numbers are assigned in a sequential order. The same reference numbered has to be mentioned when the citation is repeated. The numbering can be shown in brackets or as a superscript without brackets.

Reference numbering: All the references that are being used are numbered in the order they are first mentioned. The reference numbers for tables and legends have to be used along with the parenthesis. In the event of reuse of the earlier reference, the same reference number needs to be used.

Format for references:
The author's surname must be followed by their initials, the abbreviation et al is used after the first six authors names; followed by the title of the paper; then the title of the journal (abbreviated according to the style in the indexing platform [www.roa.nih.org]), if the journal is not indexed, the full title of the journal needs to be mentioned; the year in which it was published; volume number; first and last page numbers. Punctuations need to be carefully and correctly used.

Author Corrections
Suggestions from the authors, before or after the publication process, are acceptable and ensure that the corrections are clearly legible.
For books:
Tiff AK, editor. Induced gene mutation as a result of hypertension: clinical study. Denver: Appleton-centinary-Crofts; 1818.

Copyrights

Submission of a manuscript to the Journal of Clinical Cases journal directly implies that all the authors have read and agreed to the journal’s guidelines. The content present in the manuscript after publication will be freely available to all the potential readers over the Internet for non commercial use.
The content provided by the authors in the manuscript should at no point of time breach the Copyrights or rights of third party. The manuscript submitted should not be published or submitted for consideration in any other journal. Manuscripts with plagiarized content will not be considered for peer-review process.

Disclosure Policy

Disclosure statements need to be sent at the time of submission. Certain manuscripts (like case studies, clinical trails, etc.) submitted without the disclosure statement will be considered incomplete and may not be considered to be reviewed.
At the external peer-review stage, the authors are required to send signed copies of the following statements:
  • Authors contribution.
  • A statement of Conflict of interest.
  • Written Acknowledgments – consent of cited content and inpiduals.
  • Personal communications – written consent of cited content and inpiduals.
  • In the event of usage of any copyrighted/protected material – A signed authorization from the author and publisher.
  • A signed copy of the subject whose clinical images are presented for study.

Reprints
